Id take a 6.8 SPC ar over an ak then you get the power of an ak with the accuracy of a 5.56 ar. If only the 6.8 ammo wasn't over $1 per round

Otherwise give me an sks or an ak. Cleaning guns is no fun

6.8spc is a very good round, too bad its so damn expensive.

My uncle had a OA ar that he built. I think he used a diff. barrel but it shot great, he then sold it and built a colt ar and I will say it was alot nicer to shoot.

why do people think aks are so inaccurate, i got a cheap ass scope and mount on mine and i used it deer hunting. i sighted in at the local range during one of their clinics and was grouping 5 rds in about a 4 inch circle with military classic FMJ wolf. i will admit the steel sights suck at long ranges but what battle is faught at long ranges any more?

4MOA at 100 yds? :( Guess that is the Wolf M.C. ammo. My AR officially hates the stuff, 2.5" from a sandbag at 100. It goes sub MOA with the Hornady TAP stuff

This is the one thing that people often overlook. Cheap ammo will never be accurate. There is no consistency from the amount of powder to the bullet shape and weight.

One of my nicer AR's will shoot funky ass groups with cheap ---- like wolf, Rem UMC, and PMC, but throw in Federal 69 Gr boat tails in there, and I get 1/2" easy.

I mean, it;s not even expensive ammo to group well, just buy american. Wolf/Golden Bear/Silver Bear/suplus *bfor the russian cals* avoid.. Even Sellier And Belot (SP? Imm drunk)... Just run decent American rounds, and MOA or better with an AR happens easily, even an AR, I've run 3/4" MOA with a scope/good spotter.
