I made a 10/3 extension cord for my welder so it doesn't drop voltage over distance.

Is your welder a 110? ??? If it's a 220 30 amp then it needs a 10 gauge or bigger. On an extension it should be bigger if it's super long.

kool deal, I knew you would come to the rescue :-*

I guess I'll go shop for some 6 gauge wire (would this be safer/better?)

I mean how bad can it be to weld inside the house :-\

That's gonna stink like ass. :-X

So how far is the garage from the dryer? What about the water heater? You can use the water heater power too, assuming you have a full size water heater.

i think they make an adapter for a normal extension cord to turn it into a 220 socket my grandpa ownerd one for his camper so he could plug it into our house for power

Impossible. You can't just create an extra phase with an adapter. He probbaly had a 30amp 110 RV and used an adapter to convert it to a standard 110/15-20amp receptacle, or vise versa.

Electric water heaters cost around $400 a year to run, depending on your rates and settings on the water heater. Gas is quite a bit cheaper though. Alot of peopel out here just use the pilot to heat the water because it's so damn hot out here already you don't need 120 degree water because it comes out of the cold side already. :P

haha the dryer is about 10 feet away from me, and the garage is out the room, down the hall, out the door, down the stairs make a left, walk a little more and there it is :(

Unless a 30 foot extension cord would be safe :-\ And my water heater is flame powered
