Do most theft recoveries around there happen in the woods? I'm thinking the bbka-mobile when I say that... coincidence?

actually, a lot of them do. in fact, we came up on 2 tweekers stripping a jetta about a 1/2 mile deeper in the same wooded area. my boss called the cops, and the kids were arrested for that and a couple other car thefts. there were probably 7 or 8 cars stripped in the same area we were in.

sad state of affairs.

you may be surprised. i have seen countless abandoned/stolen vehicles in trail systems all over. sometimes its simply amazing where a car can go when you dont care about it.

There are lots of people in the area that I grew up in that take their vehicles out in the woods and burn them then claim they were stolen to collect the insurance. All kinds of burnt out vehicles just sitting there.
