The Official HMT Highest Horsepower
Alright since there's more dyno queens than racers it would be nice to have a highest HP thread. ;) To qualify you must meet the following requirements:
1. Again this is for HMT members only so 150 post minimum 2. You must post a pic of you dynograph 3. Provide all the info possible, including your entire setup, elevation and what type of dyno used 4. To narrow things down only post if you are at least at 200HP So start posting up, I'm suprised there hasn't been another thread like this but I think its appropriate with all the dyno days comming up. ;) |

i don't have 150posts so it may not count, but i thought i'd post it up because it was my first home built pieced together turbo set-up.
crx88si: you're right. Even though you were very honest and polite, out of fairness no1 under 150 may be included ;) |

I think i may have the highest hp and tq for a d16a1. It is a D16a1 block, DOHC ZC head, rollerwaves (8.0:1), KRB shorty mani, t3/40e 57 trim at 16psi. The turbo doesn't hit the highest boost level till it redlines. The boost just keeps on rising and never sustains a constant psi.
Notice the dead spot. I have no idea what it is. The engine "pops" like a vtec crossover point. I've changed ecu's etc. THe clutch was also slipping on the dyno at the high end and I was getting bad ignition breakup on the other higher boost runs so there is more room for improvement. This setup and car was sold but here is my built single cam with the bad Y8 head on 14 psi.
Vitaras, crower rods, Y8 head, Y7 block, BMC race manifold, 450s. Definitley was 250+ with the new z6 head, but never had it dynoed. And I never had it dynoed after I broke it in an ran 20 psi, this dyno was basically breaking in the motor. http://j-k-tuning.com/john.jpg |

If thats a stock head and what not, there is no way an LS carries TQ like that. No way thats 8psi all the way. Boost creep maybe? But who cares, 263 any way you cut it. Nice work.
