Re: Not a honda, not a 4 banger, no turbo(yet)
I want to get a rx-7 for a project car. They sell for $500 with blown engines all the time. They are light, rwd, huge transmission tunnel.
I'de like to put a Toyota 1UZ-FE in there. 4.0 all aluminium V8. 32valve, quad cams, forged crank and rods. 250hp, 260tor. Considerably lighter and smaller than a SBC.

They sell for $1000 from engine importers. Use a supra 5speed with an adaptor plate.
Twin turbo that bitch hmt style.

kain, do you think I should put some premix in mine even though I have the oil injectors still there? I have never done this and I really doubt the old owner did it and not to mention the car sat for 3 months .

well if you did it, it wouldnt hurt one bit. infact it might run a lil bit better.
i mix one ounce of premix walmart 5 dollar 1 gallon premix with one gallon of any fuel i put in there.
this doesnt smoke at all, and you cant smell anything. infact it made the gasoline smell go away.

go the rx7club.com. I seem to remember a certain type of oil you want to mix in, not just any 2 stroke oil. but kain is right, you might aswell premix, espcially if you have a S5, since S5s have electric oil pumps and they tend to ---- up. The oil pump in my 87 T2 (mechanical) wasn't even working when I pulled the engine apart for a rebuild.

An RX7 will be my next car, and I have both a 302 and a 350 sitting in my garage, gotta decide which one I want to put in it. Are you familiar with the EFI swap or just the carb swap? I'm debating which one I should do
