Re:Newbie help.

you could use plastic tubing, but the air won't flow as well

explain how it wont flow as well?

You can use PVC piping, but the heat the turbo puts off, warms the pvc and puts off toxic fumes, which isnt to great for the engine, and yourself.

Re:Newbie help.

Sorry for the name changing. :'(Some how I cant use ChinaRice again.Well its a shity name anyways.

On to the topic.
What is the disadvantage on using flexible piping?

???Will I need a external wastgate?Or could I just use a boost controller?

Anyone know of a site that can show me the "how to" on installing turbos?I want it to be done right or if any of you have advice to help.

Is it better to use smaller piping for turbos?2'' instake would be to big right? Will 1 1/2'' be good enough?

Im going ghetto :D cause I dont wanna spend extra hundreds on high end piping. So ill go home depot style.

Can I use "bilge piping"?It says it work under high temp and pressure conditions.

:DIf anyone of you can find some cheap piping for me at http://www.homedepot.com/ I will pay you $7.00 just for helping me. :D

Here is my turbo I got..Thanks Jeff for always showing people how to post pics. :)

My bro said the shaft has no play in and out or side to side.

Re:Newbie help.

I would suggest using exhaust piping. Just use radiator hose for the joints and use metal piping. That way it has no chance of expanding and it doesnt heat up and give off those toxic fumes.

dont use plastic / rubber/ etc.. Nothing flexable is good.. you want these connections to be hard.. I would use 2.5" electrical conduit before i would use plastic.. I agree if you must go cheap then use exhaust pipe! :P

Re:Newbie help.

get exhaust pipes from JC Whitney
4" pipes are too big unless you've got 800hp or so (like Gary Gardella's 1000hp methanol civic it uses a y2k turbo with 4" charge pipes)
