He rebuilt it because he wanted to rebuild a motor before turbo-ing it. Yes it had low miles, but it was already out of the car and more convenient. And also off topic, but every engine ever imported has "30k miles". How they be findin all them low mile motors? What the JDM ppl be swappin in, 5.0 motors?"

i think what you did, it take a perfectly good motor, and swap all the bearings which will most likely give it a higher chance of spinning one.
once these tight clearence honda motors come apart, they are never the same.
as for 1000miles on the rings, that is ridiculous, as well as 1000miles on the bearings
you definatly should have left the motor as is, if it had no problems before. i predict a spun bearing in the near future

next time dont take apart a perfectly good motor because it causes problems especially on honda motors, and especially if you do not use correctly sized oem bearings on honda motors.
could cause problems, and its more likely to since you mucked with the bottom end

I agree, Unless your a badass at building motors its not reasonable to rebuild a factory bottom end if its fine. You will probably spin a bearing. expecialy asking questions like "how long should i wait before i boost"
