Re: New Comp. Wheel.... Balance???

well i've had 2 t3 48/60 60 trims. The first one i had, had a shitty drain and started to smoke, so i took it apart and replaced the piston ring with a staggered gap one, and just threw the stock wheel back on. People say you should try to mark the orientation for the balancing, but i didn't really care. In any case, the new piston ring didn't help, so i bought a new turbo and sold that one to my friend.

So i had another t3 which was running great, however i was a dumbass and had only a screen on it, and the compressor wheel got mangled. So i called up my buddy i sold my old one to (who hadn't had it rebuild yet), and asked him if i could borrow my old compressor wheel for a few weeks till i too my car off the road. SO i just threw the wheel from my old t3 on there, and it held up great. Granted, i only ran it for a few weeks. But like accordepicenter said, if you have a cheap turbo like a 14b or even some of the lower t3's and they're cheap and you know you won't have that set up for more than 10K miles then ---- it. Otherwise, spend some money for longevity.

Re: New Comp. Wheel.... Balance???

Thank you. I think if I do it, I'll get it balanced. Rebuild with the new wheel might be in store down the road. I'm looking for more drivability and what not, not breaking track records. Thanks again, guys.

I have over 15K on my set-up (with minor mods here and there) as it is now. :X I go for longevitiy, haha.
