If his room has carpet, pull up a corner of it and place perishable food under it (cottage cheese or eggs works great), and then fix the carpet like it was never moved. It should stink pretty bad in there after a few days.

Alright. I am in this exact same situation right now so let me make a list of all the things i've done.
From lest severe to most severe:

1 - Be very obvious about your cleaning, see if they catch on.

2 - Take away privilages to things such as TV's and ps2s. (You can buy a little thing at some electronics stores that makes it so you have to enter a pin to turn on the power)

3 - Buy a snow shovel and use it to move their crap to either their desk or their bed.

4 - Yell at them and be a general ***.

5 - Come back wicked drunk, need a place to puke, empty your trash onto them while they are sleeping so you have a nice empty can.

6 - ---- THEM UP!

I have tried everything on this list and the bastard has gotten himself pretty much straitened himself out.

I used to live with 8 other guys and half of them were ------- pigs. We would just put their ---- on their bed. We would just pile their trash in their room so it was out of the common area, and eventually they got the point. Also, get yourself your own set of dished. I bought dollar store ---- and wrote my name on it with a sharpie. That way no one used my ----, and I was the only one to blame if my plate ir pan was dirty.

I find people who can't get hints about cleaning up ect. are pretty much hopeless. I'm lucky to have my brother as a roomate. But then again his douchebag friend lives with us. He sounds like what everybody else described. I just go with being an uber ------- to him. That way he doesn't talk or bother me unless he has to.

does your roommate leave pubies on the toilet seat? Mine did, sick bastard, glad I got dropped from that school 2 weeks later. Now I'm kinda hesitant to get a room mate, messy people suck, so I will have to try and correct myself first

When your living in a tiny *** dorm room (we're talking like less then 150 square feet) with one other person then its really just isn't enough room to be messy. I don't care if the kid makes a rat ---- of his bed or his desk but when I have to start clearing his ---- off of my bed when I come back at 4 in the AM ready to pass out then I get pretty pissed.
