yes but you can still have more tq then horsepower, horsepower is a function of torque. Look at diesel ----, many times youll see a diesel with 120hp and 275 lb ft... If you play with your cam timing a little bit, and stick to a stock ls head and intake manifold you could probably get hp to = tq... i think random strikes teg was like 240hp and 215lb ft or somthing like that i forget but that was on his stock LS motor

Re: more torque than HP???
i was on a dyno while i had a leak in the intercooler,i made 164Nm torque and 90Hp,curve showed that after 3000rpm the whole thing collapsed coz of that leak...thus i ended up on the stock 90hp.weird ---- that was

the only thing i cant see is, why would you want to limit your hp to make more torque, when you could try and just make as much of both of them
you will not have one without the other, just make as much of both and not worry.. will i have more tq than hp.

Re: more torque than HP???
LS engines produce higher torque than most other B series engines because of the longer rod/stroke ratio. But, the longer rod/stroke ratio also means it won't be able to rev as high and keep building power (stock). The head/IM combo on LS engines are another power limiting factor. Build that bottom end, port and polish/build the head, and you've got one hell of an LS.
