I run a mechanical oil press. gauge. Just slide a piece of vacuum line up over the plasitc line all the way from the firewallto the gauge and zip-tie it tight so it doesnt come off. You can run the vac. line all the way to the block if you really want to.

Mines had the nylon line it came with for 2.5 years now, no prolems. Well once, but I had a HUGE pre-turbo exhaust leaks and melted the line and my timing belt cover. I don't fear running the nylon hose. We've done it for years also on my dads car with no probs either.

The plastic line will be fine if you route it right. Getting a metal line is a good idea though. This just reminded me that my buddy recently was installing a o/p gauge in his old Mustang for another guy, and he didn't tighten down the fitting on the back of the gauge before starting it. It dumped about a quart of 10W30 on the floor before he noticed it... ;D

lol, thats what i was worried about...i returned it and got an electrical one..just to play it safe, but thanks for all the info.
