qft, this faust idiot needs to really think about what the issues are. The 2nd amendment says: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

What this means is we are guaranteed the right to protect ourselves from the govt. To me that means we are given the right to be on relatively equal terms as far as access to weapons as what the govt has access to in order to ensure this. I would put semi-auto "assault weapons" in this category, along with high caliber rifles, etc.

God I hate the word 'assualt weapon' Is it called an assault weapon when our AR15's m249's etc etc are used in a war? Are we arming our soldiers with 'assault weapons?' Assault weapon is a keyword that is used to scare the public. Its a ------- rifle, no matter how fast it shoots, what it shoots, or how many rounds it holds.

Basically it's for finding the rough range for volley fire.. as in 100 dudes with Nagants spraying and praying long ranges at another group spraying and praying. That's the only thing I can think of that makes sense anyway.

Exactly, The 2nd amendment states nothing about "sporting rifles", or "hunting". It's designed to allow people to be able to fight back against any threats, foreign and domestic.
