you're horribly misguided. do you really believe that only the govt can provide you with security? (which they don't and have no obligation to)

if there was no govt entities patrolling the streets i could and would not be secure?

you actually believe this? very disturbing!

the govt, police, etc... provide no security for you in your house. if i wanted to kick your door down and kill you i could with 99.9% chance of no inconvenience by the govt in anyway. they might catch me later, they might try to catch me, but the deed has been done, you were not protected by your govt masters.

ps: i am not advocating anarchy in anyway, i'm advocating a strict constitutional government.

I'm not sure where I ever said this exactly, I dont believe that only the gov't is responsible for providing my personal security...i think you like to read too deep and make your own misguided assumptions

"When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away." ;)

The mall thing is funny, because it's the one place I ALWAYS carry the gun, but the government has put signs on the door saying that I can't. It's a horrible contradiction, by "allowing" my right to carry, yet telling me one of the most likely places I'll use it (large, public area perfect for Columbine type homos), I can't. It's a good thing my ccw class taught me that taking it into the mall is a $30 fine, and the only time I'll get that fine is if/when I put the trenchcoat mafia on blast to save some lives.

With rights, there IS no balance. We take the risks of giving them to everyone over taking them from all. It's the only American position to have, once we think above the "status quo".

Back in the day, Americans threw tea into the water because they were protesting paying what was really a consumption tax. Nowadays, we've become ok with the government taxing our labor (non consumption), and being paid first no less. This is why taking rights lightly to me is a horrible mistake. It only leads to less.

But we dont give rights to everyone. Should convicted felons be allowed to vote? Should they be allowed to concealed carry? Should an immigrant who is allowed to matriculate to America be able to run for president? Should a schizophrenic be allowed to purchase a gun? Are you fighting for these people when you are fighting for rights?

Everything in life involves and needs BALANCE. Those things, people, laws...etc that are out of balance eventually fall apart or hopefully evolve to include balance.

Women and Slaves weren't allowed to do do ---- back when our oh so brilliant fore fathers drafted the constitution and these rights that everyone discusses, was this correct?

Balance ----------ers! Balance :)

Yeah, we need the government so there is no anarchy, but we also need the government to stay the ---- out of our business and most importantly never infringe upon our constitutional rights.

In fact, I don't want the government sticking it's nose into my personal affairs (especially my financial ones, but that's a whole different thread).

Of course there are situations where you need that government intervention, but for the most part I'd prefer the government stay the ---- out.

I may be biased though, since I live in a Liberal state (IL) that has extremely homosexual barefoot hippie gun laws, which the last time I checked basically prevents me from carrying or transporting a weapon at all, outside of hunting purposes.

Trying to get one of those in canada is almost impossible, you can get it but you'd have to be carrying around millions of dollars daily or something. Would be pretty sweet if i could though.
