I can build 500 whp B-series swapped car for $4000, buy KY jelly for when your gf comes over and I ---- her in the ***, and buy your gf breakfast the next morning. There is no excuse for being stupid in the day and age of freeware tuning tools based on cheap parts. Better driveability, better safety, more power.

I hope you aren't claiming your fishtank valve'd MAP sensor car is faster than the one you've been cracking on?

JD +1
There's no reason to ever run hacks, clamps or FMUs in any car.

Wrong.

Mk3 and Mk4 turbo Supras. The MAP sensor in those doesn't do what you'd think it does, since it's a MAF car. Voltage clamp pls kthx! :P

High powered V8 cars also use smaller ratio FMUs so that they don't get stupid fuel pressure problems that causes inconsistent fuelling.

Apples oranges.

Mark McKay ran 370cc injectors and 4:1 or 6:1 in his yellow convertible shortbus when it was SC. He was happy as a pig in ----, raved about FP being predictable.

JD,
good info... although i'm gonna have to let the later half sink in a minute.

I'm running a 5gph nozzle (5 x 63= cc?). Which is close to 25% alky injection to my 450cc injectors at 85% duty cycle? I use a 50/50 water alky mix.

So basicly what ive done is trimed back fuel in the load ranges that alky starts to spray. My a/fs average about 12:1 right now.

as for timing goes, i'm about 18* total timing @ 15psi, and 15.5* @ 19psi. So far no signs of detonation. So is it safe to say that i could tune a/fs closer to 12.5 without running into the condition you where talking about that completely went over my head.

Or would i be safer to start toying around with ignition and leave a/f as is.

sorry about the newb questions. I thought i understood it, then as i started to read more info online i totally got even more confused all over again.

P.S. this is on a Vitara set up.
