Interesting night...
It wasn't that bad...goes a lil' somethin like this:
There's this country road about 3 miles from my house; long curvy road. There's a section that's designated as a 30MPH zone because of this s-curve that's there. I drive this road every single day for the experience/fun.
My wheels: Just a stock '90 4-door Corolla (FWD). Oh, and bald rear tires.
So, while I'm listening to Linkin Park, I decide to go a little bit faster through the s-curve. The roads were slightly wet. I come around the turn at about 70ish MPH. Then I know something's not right when I see the side of a hill while looking straight. That's right, I spun out (did a 180). It was all slow motion until I started heading for the ditch and then it was, "Oh ****!!! I'm gonna roll!" Well, I didn't...just ended up on my side kinda. I sat there for a few seconds to regain my thoughts and turn down the music...it's a full moon and the stars are twinkling...I just barely missed the already dead squirrel.
Here's the really diabolical part. I wanted to do it again to figure out if I could've recovered. I know I made the stupid, yet natural, mistake of slamming on the brakes. So I spent the rest of my drive replaying it in my head, trying to render a method to overcome that spinout.
So, what's the proper way? My conclusion is that I should've powered out of it. But do you know hard that is..?
All in all, a fun night. A certain part of me wants to do it again...but I don't want to put an oncoming car in serious danger. Now...to answer the question people will ask, "Why are there hunks of grass stuck in the bead of your tire?"
