Re: insturment cluster question

ill check my alternator, but ill try to rewire the ground wire to see if that works. i used the multimeter to check how many volts are comeing out of the harness and i got 24.8v and how many watts and it didnt give me a reading.

watts cant be metered as far as i know. my understanding is that watts are volts and amps multiplied or devided or something. also, amps are measured differently than volts. you cant just touch the leads like you do for volts. amps are measured inline

volts x amps = watts

watts / voltage = amps

watts / amps = voltage

its really only useful for switches and relays, in automotive applications. unless you're getting into electronical components (resistors and stuff)

fyi, 330ohm resistor (any wattage, bigger is better for large arrangements) will take 12v to somewhere around 2.7v-3v (spot on for LED's if you want to make ----...)

make sure you dont buy 1.8v LED's and the 2.3-2.8 or whatever...
