I have been doing research dude. Don't get me wrong i value ur input, you obviously know your ----. But show me an article with a vehicle that is trashed from running e 85 cause i cant find one. I think theres still a lot of misinformation out there probabaly mainly due to oil companies not wanting ethanol to catch on. and i'm not saying theres a big conspericy but oil companies stand to lose a lot of money if ethanol becomes popular. jagojon3 don't u live in madison too??? i thought i remember talking to u before

It's not really that deep. Ethanol just isn't good for the lines.

Re: I'm running E 85

(Positive) facts about E85:

1. It is not corrosive to the fuel system or the engine. This is a myth and ethanol is often confused with methanol, which actually have corrosive properties. Some models before 1988 on the other hand may have some parts that is not ethanol resistant. If we are talking Volvo´s, then this mainly applies to the non-electronically injection systems such as K-jet etc. Most cars with electronical fuel injection (EFI) should be resistant to ethanol.

This looks like research too though. Is this bullshit? I'm asking in a non-cocky way.

I've heard there are 'Summer' and 'Winter' blends.

To defend E85, I have yet to see somebody's fuel system completely disintegrate on any forum (which is obviously a perfect representation of real life events !!!).

Re: I'm running E 85

I'm going to rock it on my new setup, I'm hoping to have it completed by june 1st, so keep you're eyes open i'll def. be posting up. The only thing I'm afraid of is the consistency of the e85. like mista said it could be 70/30, any fluctuations could throw off the tune right? I'll tune this bad boy myself so I guess I'll find out. Other than that it has an octane rating of 105, and needs approx. 30% more to be injected, the increased volume should help with cooling and the relitively high octane will help prevent detonation.
