I didn't think it was too bad. I didn't get hassled at all by the cops, but I was also asleep pretty early to get up early and get the car to our spots and cleaned up. Only the complete idiots seemed to be getting busted. I can usually tell who the people are down there that are showing their cars and who is just a spectator...the spectator's are the ones up until 5:30am drunk and screaming while the one's showing are trying to sleep lol.

My friend Kurt won first place, he's got an '05 Evo 8 with train horns under it but it's super friekin' clean. His engine bay is spotless, you could eat off of it.

Car-shows are the automotive equivalent of a circle jerk, where the winner is the one who shot the biggest load.

True story. My friend has a stock ass black Bimmer with 18 or 19" black rims and a polished lip and wins trophies like woh. Wish I had the dough to pickup a NSX. I'd take home trophies all day long. Half these dumb fucks here would think it was a Lambo or Ferrari if I debadged it.

It sounds like you're a bit jealous to me. Car shows are another form of competition, and it's not always one of "who spent the most money" anymore. Most shows that I go to they want to see original stuff with thought put into the design and where the owner tries to do as much of his own work as possible. And they look for cleanliness. A lot of guys bust my nuts about how much time I spend cleaning and detailing my car, but guess what...when it comes judging time, I'll usually win something because my car is simply cleaner than theirs. It shows pride in owning your car. Sorry if that doesn't fit in with HMT's philosophy anymore, but guess what...I'm making money off this ---- just from people seeing my work first hand and wanting me to do their rides too. Plus I won another award this weekend at another large local car show, so I'm obviously doing something right.

You're doing a great job at what you're doing, there's no question there.

Don't be hard put about that, but if you deny that the entire point of a car-show is to have a vulgar display of wanking to the only thing that someone who isn't a motorhead can judge (aesthetics) then you're in denial.

Not to say I don't enjoy a good car-show.

That'd spank up AWD pig boxes all day. Lovefab ran a 10.3 in theirs when it was making just a hair under 600hp, granted it was on slicks, but still full interior with upgraded sound system.

My point exactly, and it is stock motor. The yellow LoveFab one (newer gen) has studs and a HG and is putting 700+ down.
