I have a fucking virus.
 

This is the first time I have evr gottena virus and I keep getting popus from windows saying what it is doing and telling me to scna for adware and all kinds of ----. this is annoying as hell. I'm downloading mcafee right now...How the hell did I get a virus when I'm on a firewalled,wireless network? wtf ???

Lookslike its some sort of new Trojan and I cant delete, clean or quarantine it! WTF!?!?!?!! Will a system restore fix it?

Pron or AIM. I had it once, best bet is to reformat and get an antivirus. I Jew McAfee out by reformatting every two months and get the freebie, then update it

If you post some specifics on what message the virus says, what the titlebar says of the popup, etc., I will try to help. My woman had a bitch of a spyware and it took me a few different tools+additions to those tools to remove it. Clever ass spammers these days, death to them.

McAfee tells me I have a Painter trojan and the "New Malware.j" trojan. the malware.j trojan is in a write protected file named C:Windows\system3winsrv32.exe. I tried to delete the file, but the computer wont let me. I get a popup every few minutes saying the system is going to shiut down in 60 seconds and starts a countdown. and I keep getting the little security alert at the bottom right saying I have a virus and to download some free ---- form somewhere. I get another popup from windows security center saying "Danger: spyware activity detected on your computer!" and has the option to do a free scan or close the window,and both buttons have the same result. it takes you to that damn website for the free download. It takes me to www.antispylab.com

This is getting hella annoying. I'm gonna let mcafee scan while I sleep. Thanks for any help guys.

I got something VERY similar. rebooted in safe mode and updated and ran adaware and spybot, took care of the problem. the stupid pop up deals kept sending me to antispylab or some ---- like that. that was about a week ago, and havent had that problem since.

lol system shutdown, i did a simple ms dos batch file for that (to log off in 10 seconds) to a kid at school, and I also made it open a program that opened itself for an infinite number of times... it was always fun to watch what would happen first... the computer shutting down, freezing, or Terry screaming like a raped pig.

I was looking in the Porn section; one of em threw up a McAfree warning about a Trojan; it was something about housewives....... Porn practically is HIV at times :'(

well that first message is normally seen when you remotely shutdown a machine, the lsass.exe is the local security authentication server, it verifies the validity of the logins of you machine.

of course this is also the name of a virus,lol. but if you rightclick your mcafee icon ( the v-sheild) and select update now, it will download the latest dat file, then run the system scan and it should find any virus.

for future reference there is a progrm called AVG antivirus that works very well with catching spyware and some trojans, also its free. run that in conjunction with adaware ( spybot is worthless) and you
should not have any issues.

I've started compressing all my important files on the laptop to transfer them to my desktop. When it finishes with this HUGE file, I'll reboot in safe mode and try again. Will safe mode let it clean those files it said it couldnt clean before?

BTW: If I take the laptop offline, I dont get any of those virus popups. Is that normal?

thats how i do rid of my trojan/spyware on my house computer. it took me a good 2 months to get every virus off of the computer but i did it :). i have to disable the firewall and do a whole bunch of work in safe mode. but i located every virus and deleted them. its not that hard actually lol

so, I have it in safe mode right now scanning for viruses. if it deletes them all, I wont worry about reformatting. But I also installed macafee on my desktop and it found a trojan too. I never had a problem on that one though.

That is called the sasser worm virus or some bullshit like that, it hides in all of the files that start your computer so if you get rid of it it just shows right back up when you restart your comp, windows released some shitty ass update that allows you to fix it, do a search somewhere on the Sasser Worm Virus, thats about all I can say, I had it about a year ago.

After scanning both my desktop and laptop, it turns out that the desktop had 9 trojans (but never gave me ANY problems at all....maybe its too shitty for the trojans to even work, lmao), and the laptop only had that one trojan. But I was able to delete it when I Was in safe mode. Thanks for that tip guys. It doesnt seem to have ny of the symptoms anymore and I've restarted it a couple times. On a positive note, McAfee was catching and deleting new trojans left and right yesterday while I was having problems. :6 :y

burn your computer ;D , just kidding..

enter in mode safe (i dont know how this is said..) and run your antivirus.. if you use a Windows Xp , update it. seem the sasser , though you can defuse it.

yea wtf is going on in this thread..

when u get the shutdown timer thingy u can stop it by going to start > run > type in "shutdown -a"

get hijackthis.. spybot search and destroy.. get zone alarm..

go start > run > type in "msconfig" click the start up tab.. click disable all..

restart.. rerun hijackthis.. spybot search and destroy..

if it still doesnt work.. restart into safe mode.. when the pc is starting up.. hit f8 f8 f8 f8 f8 f8 f8 till the prompt comes up and select safe mode.. in safemode u can go through and manually delete the files..

good luck. if i wasnt dead tired.. i would have went into better detail..

Don't be a -----. Go into regedit(windows, run, regedit). Then go to Local Machine->Software->Microsoft->Windows->Current Version->Run. list what is there. The names generally stick out. If you disable it from the run sequence it can't do anything. Thats all hijack this does. After that you probably can remove it pretty easily with your run of the mill spyware remover. Hell Microsoft just released a new free spyware tool that I have. It seems to be pretty decent. A lot of people are saying its very very good.

Also, stop using IE. It sucks. You will get spyware. Mozilla will protect you much better.
