---- man i feel for you. im kinda in the same situation, bought a car in bad shape for 500 and the kid said he filed for lost title. ends up he had bought the car form a guy at work and that guy lost the title, so he actually sold the car and it wasn't even in his name. wish he woul have told me this ---- before i picked it up. is there any way for me to find out who the titled owner is through the dmv so i can find the guy and talk to him myself?

Call the motor vehicle dept in your state. Tell them your situation and they will point you in the right direction.
