Hey guys I got this eg from my friend a while
ago but he didnt give me the damn title.
Anyways now I wanna sell it and I wanted to know
if I could get it without him, because he lives
in delaware now and I lost him #

owned. you'll never get one before you sell it. find a junkyard same make car, take vin plate, bolt to your car, buy title for $100 from jy cashier.

You could possibly get the title but it is quite a process.

It's in Florida, he gave me the car for free and said that
he would mail me the title. I let it sit and now I dont
have his # anymore

go to an insurance company; forge some sort of bill of sale. pay insurance company to bond the title to your name

I have a title for a 92 HB but no vin plate we scraped the car and forgot to get the vin plate
the title is clean reg.in colo

If you don't have this guys name then I don't know why he'd give you a car other than it being stolen, besides that you can look up the vin, who it's registered to now and contact them.

Logic owns you. You're some internet nobody, you have a car that was gifted to you, and no title.

How the ---- are we supposed to know whether you're baiting for some kind of theft bullshit. If you got it from your friend you should have, or be able to get his contact information, it's not that hard. Besides parting it out is almost as bad these days.

You only have a couple options
-you track your friend down and he has to apply for a lost/duplicate title and sign it over to you
-you need to have a bill of sale and register the car in a state that you don't need a title for cars over x years old. then you can take that registration and can usually title the car in other states that need a title to register. I was in the process of doing that here in PA (registered it in RI but lost the registration) tell this to the dude you're selling it to, write him up a bill of sale and get it notorized, then let him try to figure out what to do with it.

I would not recommend ghosting the car with another title and vin plates. Someone does something stupid and they start looking at the car and it gets traced back to you because you sold it, you're potentially looking at some deep ----. That's how alot of people used to get around stealing nice cars so they cracked down on that ----. That's why the vin is in so many places in a car, not just one easy to swap plate.

---- man i feel for you. im kinda in the same situation, bought a car in bad shape for 500 and the kid said he filed for lost title. ends up he had bought the car form a guy at work and that guy lost the title, so he actually sold the car and it wasn't even in his name. wish he woul have told me this ---- before i picked it up. is there any way for me to find out who the titled owner is through the dmv so i can find the guy and talk to him myself?

Call the motor vehicle dept in your state. Tell them your situation and they will point you in the right direction.
