How do I get that Rally Car sound?
I am watching the WRC marathon on the Speed Channel right now, and I was wondering how Rally Cars get such a cool sound from their engine/exhaust. Are they straight piped out of their headers, or is it a really nice exhaust system? No catalytic converter in them, right? I know they are limited in the amount of engine modifications they are allowed to make on Rally cars, since the car is supposed to be as close to the production car as possible.

well is your car turbo or normally aspirated?? shouldnt really matter much!
what ive done is i kept the cat for emmisions reasons and cut out all the silencers and replaced them with straight pipe and add a good back box!
its the home made job but if ya can get them over there try get the powerflow exhaust system! im goin for it in a few weeks coz they do give a good rasp if ya get it straight thrulet me know how ya get on!
