hotwiring a honduh
Some of you might remember the dc integra I picked up around a year ago now for $500. Well after some dipshit totalled my crx, someone broke into our apartment and stole a buncha ---- including the keys to my ek and teg, which both didn't run at the time so HAH.
My lease ended a few days later, nobody would tow the cars without keys, and I couldn't get new ones made because one title was at the lease and the other was lost somewhere. They ended up getting impounded and fucked.
I fixed the integra but still can't get keys made until the title is replaced which could take a damn while, and I want to move it from my friends house.
Could I just jump the 12v wire to ignition wire 2 to start it and jump to ignition wire 1 for the accessories and crap? or is it the other way around? Could I remove the ignition switch to keep the steering wheel from locking?
Better yet, are there any of you honduh/acura employees that can get a key made?

Take the steering column cover ---- off. Unscrew the key ignition switch. The key part should come off and what you're left with is a white round switch that the key cylinder turns. This is actually the ignition switch, and if you have a screwdriver or something you can turn it with you can start it. I don't know how to deal with the steering lock (since I don't know how it works exactly), but it may take care of that too. It's worth a shot.

cool torgan, I thought about that when I was wiring up remote start/keyless entry in the rex and had it off, just didn't know if the keyhole part went in the white plastic part or not...I guess it makes sense now that I think about it...ignition switch is a universal piece.
Anyone know about the steering wheel lock?
Or better yet, can anyone get a key made for me? I can prove with emails between the dealer its my vehicle, the documentation was just all lost...

The wheel lock will come off when you remove the ignition ----. I can't remember exactly what goes on there, but the wheel lock gets bypassed when you remove the ignition.

Re: hotwiring a honduh
I just went through this. I got drunk as ---- at a halloween party and lost my key ring which had the only key to my 90si on it. I took the vin to the honda dealer got the code and had a key cut but it didn't work. The car had been re-keyed. The mobile locksmith would come make a key but it was nearly $200 with the service call. Honda didn't want a title or anything I found that a little scary but hey mine was locked in the car anyway. So I coathangered my way in and pulled all the ignition cover, luckily the breakoff bolt head on the ignition lock werent broken off so I just pulled that off the column and it contains the bolt that locks the steering shaft. Then pull the white switch insert screw driver and boom. Luckily the guy buying it was a friend that didn't care and he just doesn't lock it and starts it with a screwdriver he stole from 90dx and still hasn't given back.

gonna have to break the steering wheel lock, unless you wanna punch the rivets out, which will be a major bitch. Just get the club and put it on the steering wheel and yank as hard as you can, then take off the little white part and turn the inside of it. Bam car stolen, i mean car fixed

Re: hotwiring a honduh
you can have a locksmith make a key for around $100, or you can buy an ignition cylinder with key at autozone for $20 (but then no key for the door)
and just take off the steering column plastics, unscrew the igniition switch, and use a screwdriver, break loose the steering wheel lock and your good to go (this is why honda are stolen so much)

Re: hotwiring a honduh
they're not rivets, they're anti theft screws that have the heads break off when they're tightened. I usually drop the steering colum by undoing the 2 17mm bolts that hold it up and then use little vice grips or 90* bent needle nose pilers to twist the screws out, then the ignition drops down.
