Hot in my Car. WHAT TO USE TO KEEP COOL???

Ok...heres my dilema

In my car it gets hot as hell...even at night i can feel the heat inside my car from the hot ass exhaust and the hot engine. i dont have any carpet right now because im waiting on my new carpet to come in from one of the fellow hmt members. but in the meen time what do i use to keep the heat down....is there anything that i can put on my floor to keep the heat out?? or to a minimum. please help because its hot a ---- in my car and i dont like driving awhole lot these days.

lewis

p.s. i was thinking of wrapping my entire exhaust in heat wrap but damn that would be a pain. anything for the inside folks ??? like the floor board and the fire wall?

How about a 7-11 Slurpee? ;)

Honestly, its pretty normal for a floorboard to get hot. I would assume you have already removed the cat convertor right? because all those do is just collect heat. I suppose you could wrap up some of your exhaust in exhaust wrap, but I dont know how much it will affect it. I say, live with it

no....the cat is still there...it has its heat shieds but the exhaust manifold heat shield is gone and ever since then my car gets hot inside...its like the heat just travels off that damn thing and just goes inside. and the 7-11 slurpee has already been done over and over ;D i think i will wrap my manifold and the down pipe and the exhaust pipe til i get to the gas tank...that way it will keep the heat down a bit...

would it get cooler once i put the carpet in ???

i think ill remove the cat tomarrow, buy some exhaust wrap...get an alignment cause being lowered with a camber i can eat thru tires in about 3 weeks in the front and i think ill install my dual core del sol radiator....not much else to do on a day off.

any other ideas people ??? will the carpet take away most of the heat ??

you could do some kinda heat shielding material .. dynamat has some for the underside of your hood.. just use it inside... or if you think its heat from the exhaust manifold not the engine drive around with your hood off.

there is a neon around here that cruises with no hood and it makes me want to punch the owner in the face and steal their spark plug wires.

my car is hot as ---- too, I have no carpet, I don't think that's what's doing it to me though, it's probably because I live in Las Cruces, NM.

learn a lesson from school bus drivers all over the country... just get a couple of 4" diameter fans mounted on dash and roof.
