The HI3R is Honda's First normally aspirated IndyCar racing engine. teams and drivers utilizing the Honda HI3R engine in the 2003 Indianapolis 500 include Andretti Green Racing with Micheal Andretti, Robby gordon, Dan Wheldon, and tony Kanaan; Super Aguri Fernandez Racing with Roger Yasukawa; and Team Rahal with former IRL series champion and Indy 500 race winner Kenny Brack
