was painted with aluminum and iron oxide.

dont you need magnesium for thermite too?



anyway, my grandfather helped with that shizzle at lakehurst (not the time it went boom)

the magnesium is to produce the heat necessary to light the thermite IIRC.

Yeah that is all it is for. If you can get anything as hot as that it will ignite it. Magnesium is just a really common way.

to a few thousand cubic feet of hydrogen would do the trick then too, huh

sparklers are what you need. cheap and effective fuses.
