a built d or a ls will both get you to about 300hp. i would pick up another z6/y8 and throw the rods and pistons in it. you didn't say what turbo you are running but use the extra money to buy a bigger turbo. unless your current turbo will support close to 300

ps. torque is overrated in a fwd Honda. I break the tires loose in 3rd gear at 70mph in my 17psi turbo D <-----

right now i'm runnign a .42 .48ar volvo turbo, its ok i guess, i'm a lil reluctant to set it to 10 psi cuz it starts spooling at around 2500 and doesnt get to 6lbs untill 3000rpm, is this normal? if i set it to 10 psi wont it takes till 5k or something? are the gains greater than the cost of lag? how many psi, approximatly will it take to get this car to 300whp? and what is the best sized turbo? i dont want specs... i can search for that but actual experience, thanks guys.

yeah that turbo is too small for 300. a 60/63 can hit 300 but that is about the limit. this is the turbo i plan on running

alright new turbo then. is a complete y7block with trans 78k miles for $200 bucks good?

Re: Help me decide guys! D16 or LS?

what wrong with the y7 you have? if it is just burning oil that should be fixed with new pistons and rods. i would just throw the pistons and rods in the current block or get a z6/y8

i cant have much of a downtime its my daily driver and plus the 78k block would have cylinder bores that are closer to stock (my pistons) shouldnt it.

go Ls you can always upgrade to vtec later. but its cheaper to build and maintain a d series motor

awwww you just missed out on a complete LS swap, everything, harness, tranny, engine, axles, ecu, the homie just sold it.

But it'd rock the Y7, if you get the LS, give me the Y7 for free :y By the way, do you have the stock Y7 manifold? If so, wanna give it away or sell for really really cheap?
