Havind 2nd thoughts

I just took my car to a performance shop because it is doing something weird. Well while I was there I started to talk to this guy that had a partly built gsr. So then he ask "So what are you planing to do to your CRX". I told him that I was going turbo. As soon as I told him that I have him and two other guys in my face trying to convince me that "all motor" is better, safer, faster, and cheaper. Well, now I'm not sure what I want. Turbo or all motor? ???

Comment welcome.

Ps- Sorry for the long post just trying to decided cause I want to have it done within the next month.

when I first told a friend of mine about my turbo dreams he did nothing but tell me how I was going to break ----, and how he was just going to go all motor, now I'm helping him put together a turbo setup. all motor is fun, while you're getting your turbo kit pieced together. how often do the all motor guys talk about how awesome the sound of their turbo spooling is? or how funny it was when their bov scared the ---- out of someone?

just for that go and buy the biggest turbo you can find and run it with no wg and no bov and youll be faster than the all motor -----s

Faster, I'm not sure about that one, if you are using the exact same motor, a turbo setup would be faster for the same money spent.

Cheaper, I doubt it, unless they are thinking of a pre-fabed kit vs all motor parts, then maybe, but doing it our way, a turbo will be cheaper.

Better, that's just their opinion, is like debating domestic vs imports, you will never win.

Safer, probably. With an all motor setup you get the power you make and if you treat it decent it should hold fine. With a turbo setup you are always tempted on boosting higher, showing off and ----, and that could lead to blowing up the engine. But a good designed turbo system with good management would last long.

Ravage70- There quote for a partly built LS-vtec was $2400

Kyle- The funny thing is that I pieced out my friends turbo kit for his LS.

BLACK_DEL_SOL- That's what I was thinking but I'm not a person to do thigs out of the blue.

davcivic- Well I was thinking of going with TurboEdit and tuning it on the dyno. But these guys made it seem like I would spend $$$$ to make it run right.

What to do?

Re:Havind 2nd thoughts

2400 for what?
what cams and valvetrain are included?
what rods what pistons

Hell no that's too much. My car with the afc hack runs like stock, idles like stock, but pulls hard. And I spend a total of maybe $1200 for everything.

all motor is cool
turbo is cooler....

*turbo cost wise....projecteg(you dont know him, your a newb, but its cool) told me he spent $1,100 on his HM kit. Hes running 12psi, and in the mid 13sec range on a 99(?) SI.
-no fuel management.

*all motor, $1,100 would get you an ok head, if you have someone else do it. I said ok.

what kind of racing are you gonna do? what are your goals with it? street and drag racing? go turbo.
street and road/autoX go all motor.

reliability, sure all motor is more reliable. I dont have a turbo yet, but im already addicted to it.

it depends on how you look at things....
