Default Harbor freight shmarbor freight

I'm borrowing this from my brother. Just got home with it and spit out a quick weld. Never welded with gas before. I need some practice with it but this thing welds like butter compared to the harbor freight flux.

I can lay down beads like that with my flux core HF box. It just comes down to prep. Yeah maybe with a better welder you don't need the ---- surgically clean as it burns through the dirt and grime. What kind of welder is that?

Snap-On, looks to be about 20 years old. My HF is finnicky as hell, always clogging up and ----. I didnt prep this metal at all been sitting in a box for who knows how long

Try moving the torch more in small circles as you move across the seam. Looks like you moved straight with it. Mig is 100x better than flux. I ran out of gas today with my mig and tried finishing. lol I still laid halfway decent beads but talk about spatter!!

/l/l/l/l/l/l/l/l i move in a pattern like that it keeps the bead a uniform width/thickness . try using a hair less voltage as well

it looks like the numbers for wire speed and voltage are just arbitrary so i cant tell you where to set them. i use a millermatic 350p at work, for .065 wall pipe i use 18.5-19volts and 190-200 wire speed

hope that helps
