thast ------- sweet. At least on hondas the clutch and flywheel are on the other side so you only have to worry about knocking your passengers legs off instead of your own.
P.S those big chunks look like they came from the pressure plate assembly and not the flywheel. The ring gear is still there in the pics and I assume thats the flywheel in the center of it still. Unless somehow the flywheel scattered and the ring gear miraculously manged to stay in one piece

Re: Had to be a Neon!!!
youre obviously not familiar with Neons. that ring gear is on the flex plate. they have modular clutches which means the flywheel and pressure plate are one piece aka riveted together and not seperable. they bolt to the flex plate just like a torque converter on an automatic. the flywheel is 100% the cause of that destruction.

Re: Had to be a Neon!!!
guys, grey iron pressure plates and flywheels are known for letting go like this, get can be marginal at high rpm especially if they start to crack, this is not that uncommon. Just look them over REAL good if youre reusing one and dont slip them too much, especially if you have a pucked clutch, itll keep the heat buildup and cracks to a minimum. Ductile iron is much better

in that case I am getting scatter shield, because I have a Exedy 9 lbs chromoly flywheel, and drive fast as hell and spin this thing to 96k at any given day.
