Nice block! :y What are the pistons? if i remember right the LS has a longer stroke, think it is like 89 where the gsr is like 87 |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
pretty sure there both the same? same displacement +same bore = has to have same stroke
|

The LS rods are slightly longer and the stroke is slightly longer. GSR blocks displace 1797cc and the LS block displaces 1834cc. |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
what pistons and how do the longer stroke with the long rods affect c/r?
|
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
solid, how much did that set you back

And GSR block with LS rods and Crank is a very common setup...that little extra stroke makes for nice torque :) |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
82mm cp's
ls crank and rods make for better torque every little bit counts... Plus I kept the oil squirters! |

Being "Baller" is all about state of mind though O0 |

Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
GSR block for the advantage of the oil squirters, and LS crankshaft and rods for the extra stroke=more torque, I would have done it the same way
GSR crank =87mm stroke, LS crank=89mm stroke, B16 crank=77mm stroke. nice setup. I picked golden eagle over benson though. |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
Too bad the oil squirters were in there to cool factory internals. :P
You all have it wrong. Bill means a hundred, and a stack is a thousand. If you have 10 bills, you have a stack. In this case, the OP spent 3 stacks. |

I am not a baller by all means guys. I work 7 days a week and bust my ass for my ----! This breaks I am done here cant afford to spend any more $$$... This build has been in the making for about 2 years now. Ballers do it all at once!

Xenecrone is a baller.... Bring it to a real tuner when you have it all together :P |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!

Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
Hey, I'm building an LS/Vtec build as well...looking to bore the block out to 84 mm...did some research, here's the difference between the rods (because i made the mistake of buying the wrong rods)
The B18C has... # Stroke: 87.2 mm (3.433") # Rod Length: (5.430") Shorter stroke, longer rod, higher revving. The B18A/B has... # Stroke: 89 mm # Rod Length: (5.394") Longer stroke, shorter rod, lower revving. Got a sweet deal on some blox turbo cams, getting some tuner toyz ls rods, got the arp head studs, greddy turbo kit, golden eagle conversion kit...still need some parts, but if anyone has any good advice on some low comp pistons, i'm open to suggestions... not sure if i can drop 3 g's on motor work...work my ass, but don't get paid well for it |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
Dang, I would've done 84 or 85mm honestly but whatever floats your boat.

Yeah because 2L blocks are so extreme.

go 82 if it breaks go 83 then go 84 dont want to waste it on the 1st try... |

Looks good :y What is the setup gonna be?

Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
I understand the rationale, but it's just what I would have done if I were sleeving a block. 84mm gives you a couple chances for poor oiling and scuffed walls.
Stealth, exactly. |
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
fucka ------ ---- your block fucked your mom
|
Re: Got my block back today! Wish me luck!
good luck with the build
