4bolt is weaker unless the extra 2 bolts are angled in...

Not on the later model trucks (88 up) they where all passenger side. The only true way to tell is run the casting numbers ether the rear ones or the one under the alt. You cant go by what the person says because I have a 79 4x4 gmc that was supposed to have a 350 in it and it had a wonderful 267 out of a later model nova :S my d15b1 makes more hp than that thing and it was trying to move a 4700lb truck around lol.

The rest of the quote was, he was asked if he had a problem finding enough forged steel cranks, "I didn't use those either." But nobody here wants to hear that, 4-bolt daaawwgg!!!11

all the small blocks in trucks and performance engines (camaro/firebird/chevelle/etc) came with forged steel its not like they are hard to find 8)

i bet back then lingenfelter didnt make 2000+hp street cars like they do today

hence the cast iron cranks were good enough
