Well, decided i couldn't wait anymore, so I went and bought a new WRT54G.

most wireless crap name is 54mbits and typical lan wired cat5 etc connection will be 100mbits. unless you have gig hardware in which it would be 1000mbits 8)

go to dd-wrt.com and download and install the correct firmware for your model router.

Did you connect your computer to the router with a ethernet cable? You can upgrade the firmware with wireless but if something happens you run the risk of bricking the router, and it'll need to be connected via ethernet anyway.

Make sure you have the right firmware from dd-wrt.com and hopefully "upgrade are succeed"

Think you can find the link for me? I went here http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads.php and got lost.

I don't know which is the correct firmware for mine, as it doesn't really specify.

And yes, I connected my router to the computer

Probably the same one you have, but try that. Guess it's the same software for all routers.

This is what happens after I click browse, find the file, then hit upgrade
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...earefailed.jpg

If i click continue, it looks as if its upgrading, but a few minutes later another pop up comes up saying "upgrade are failed"
