Well yeah, that bike is fast as ----, but listen to the video where they were in the Z06 taking off. It sounded like he was just cruising, not racing. :l You can't tell me a Z06 bogs like that at WOT. :S

theres only one maybe two mustangs on there, and neither are stockers. note the position of the evo in the chart. an evo is a milk/juice car... btw, you dont watch top gear to get a non biased opinion of cars, you watch it for the humour value. there is no denying that hes funny as ----. z06 is a cool car, i particularly like the rear suspension design and dry sump that it carrys, still, any half arsed stock honda has 1.5x better specific power than the ls7. though, it is ok for a pushrod engine. now that the japs have ditched their VOLUNTARY 280ps limit, look out for some monster cars. http://www.billzilla.org/2v4v.htm that page (the main car index, not that specifically) is loaded with good toyota and general info. i disagree with a few things on there, but hes a reasonable guy and happy to discuss your views on things. he drives 747s for a living. |

a turbo nsx at 12psi making 500 crank hp would be reliable IF it was built right. you can guarantee that. how about a toyotas, how about a 5l mill with no boost making 500hp, hows that? such an engine doesnt roll off the showroom floor (see 280hp limit) but it could be built from their v12 without too much hassle. its no big deal to make 100hp per litre. there is no excuse for GM if you ask me. the later ford V8s have 4 cams, and make more respectable numbers for their size, things are looking up for the american car makers credibility.
you speak of ls1s like they are infallible. in reality they are not, there were a LOT of warranty claims on engines in the commodores with ls1s in em. not up to the task when really held to it. have you got what ever it is thats on your mind out yet? 11 posts to my 3 before hitting the go button on this one. perhaps sit back and enjoy a beer instead of trying your hardest to have a heart attack... |

From my experiences vehicle weight is the biggest contributor to shitty gas mileage. For instance, my dad's i4 Sonoma got the same mileage as his magnum v8 Dakota when the Sonoma was loaded and the Dakota was empty. I'm talking 2-3 AC compressors on the Sonoma + misc tools and ----. The total weights were comparable, yet the Sonoma with its underpowered engine had to have tons of the throttle to keep going on the highway. Unloaded the Sonoma was great, but loaded it sucked balls, like the magnum v8.
