That's not a fight... He was minding his own business and they singled him out by calling him "_____" ("Quote - One of the defendants shouted a racial slur."). They beat him and he ran away. They gave chase and beat him up some more.

Was it a fight? Yes.
Is it fair to call a 5 person mob beating 1 person a fight? Probably not.
Was it racially motivated? Given the fact that someone shouted a racial slur, yes.
Do these guys deserve a sentance a little heavier than they would have for a fight? Yup.
Did they cry in front of the judge? Ha ha... yeah.
