Re:Four more years of War
Instead you wanna bitch about the people dying to secure your freedom.
To be quite honest, I don't kno who would have done a better job because for one, Kerry isn't president, and secondly, Bush hasn't done anything to really draw attention to it. And I think that that is the problem. If you guys have ever read 1984 you'd sort of see a similarity between the way that war is described in there and how it's being applied today. War is perpetuated to keep the masses at bay. They (the government), keeps this state of war in effect in order to keep the people appeased while not exactly doing enough to cause a revolt. It's better explained in the book, but essentially, it's keeping us at war to draw our attention away from things that actually should be hot topics.
That was the worst part about the election. Wedge issue after wedge issue after wedge issue. By doing that, the republicans undermined the integrity of the intelligent people of America.
But like everyone else has said, the election is over now. But I guess that doesn't actually mean we can't discuss it. If anything, it's good to talk about it. It's just studying history as far as things go.

I don't have a clue what you just said, but I'll try to let you know what I got out of each paragraph and you can let me know where I'm going wrong.
The freedom that is being protected is our freedom to be the country that we are, and not worry about being attacked by countries who don't like us. Fear of attacks brings us down. Without that fear, we are free to carry on with our daily lives. It's more of a big picture thing than one specific event/topic (the way I see it)
Something something about a book that says we only go to war so the government can hide what they are really doing. Without even a hint of "what they are really doing", I can't see how this theory can be brought up.
Wedge issue, wedge issue (my perception isn't sure what a wedge issue is) let the republicans "undermine the integrity of intellegent people". Do you have to be intellegent to have integrity? Or?. It seems to me that the point you are trying to make with this would be made 100% by peoples perception of 1) what is a "wedge" issue. 2) How a wedge issue can undermine integrity. 3) but only of intellegent people.
I agree that discussions are good things.
