i would replace those bolts... Youre not gonna get them off if you need to if theyre even slightly stripped, like it looks like they may possibly be after you attempt to tighten them down. I usually use a 1/2" impact wrench and burp those bolts down tight. Ive used a torque wrench maybe 2x...

As do I, its either one of two things that could have caused that, #1 you didnt tighten them down much at all or you did tighten them down somewhat and got that flywheel flaming hot with a steemy ass burnout possibly? and thermodynamics took it from there

i always use a impact gun on my ----, it torque it down hella tight, only thing that should be stock spec on a engine is rodbolts and headstuds. :P

It sounded dumb, but what I was trying to get at was if the bolt heads fucked anything up. I didn't see the sentance on top. but I am suprised that you didn't get any kind of marks on anything else.

The reason they arnt straight is because they were backing out and grinding. So the scrapes are round as the bolt tunred. I know i torqued them down to 81 lbs. I had a buddy hold the fly wheel with a ring gear holder and i torked them down. BUT it still some how backed out. The motor was just rebuilt 200 miles ago so no burn outs im still babying the motor a bit. Also the bolts hit the clutch.. but didnt do any damage just hit the meatal just under the spring. It didnt grove it just scraped it.

i have always put a little locktight on flywheel bolts. also i always go 95-96 foot pounds. looking at that you might want to check the specs on the clucth plate, 18 foot pounds is right on the money. well thats for a b-series, but im sure its the same
