"Global warming" is part of the natural cycle leading to the next ice age, we are not causing it.

ooh global warming. heres a fun topic. who says we are out of the last ice age anyways? more destructive ---- is blown out of a single volcanic eruption than everything we've ever produce out of our auto's. are people really trying to stop global warming or are scientists just taking the money they are having thrown at them to produce studies that environmentalists want. anyone thought of looking outside the US and their own agendas to try to make a real difference? anyone look at china? the billions of coal they burn each year, the millions of tons of waste that is burned into the air and dumped into their water. how about the mercury they have been blowing into the atmosphere that has been settling all around the world and have had documented cases of illnesses related to it here in the US. 16 of the 20 worst polluted cities in the world are in china. throughout the entire country, roughly 80% of the water is undrinkable. look at the industrial waste dumped into rivers in india.

there are so many more troubling things than what libs want everyone else to believe

I do.

Your thinking is as muddled as some of the enviro-wackos', if you weren't aware. You do the same as they do, switch from talking about global warming to talking about pollution mid-discussion like they are the same subject, when they are not. Don't do that ----, please.

you do eh? were you around when the last one was over? do any scientists really know? no. there is a reason science very rarely actually uses the word proven and often go with the word theory. theories tend to be published along hte lines of who will pay them the most to keep researching...

what do enviro's say to battle global warming? reduce pollution. case and point. thank you very much

and as much as i like sinisters point, and the point of hte record colds along the western half of the US, there are glaciers receding and breaking off up north so on a local scale, i dont really see the difference. globally yes, we see a difference.

if the planet is to die, it will, with or without us. we may stall it or speed it up, but everything has a life cycyle, even planets. now, not that this is a concrete example, however, look at mars. they say they might have found water or traces of biologic remains. howd they get there? is the planet just beginning, or, finally ending?

oooh ooh ooh. and as i typed this up johnny comes through again. more proof of how extremely accurate and steadfast science is, especially when it comes to global weather patterns and where we will be in the future. remember hte 50's when we were supposed to be living on the moon by now?

:1

Yes, they do, fossil record tells all, down to the fact that greenhouse gas levels AND average temperatures have been higher than they are currently.

How do you battle the earth's albedo? Thank you very much.

Science fed to the layperson on an agenda is no longer science.

Remember the NASA trip to the North pole to study the "hole" in the ozone layer... and the decades of silence since? You can't find any mention of any conclusions anywhere.

They also tell us the dinosaurs were wiped out due to the increases, that human beings were bought to the brink of extinction (check out your mitochondrial dna). Just because its happened before, doesn't mean we're not responsible. We are the straw which broke the camels back.

Oh, fossil records also show us, we've had it better then any other period in history, no natural disasters, no ice ages, no flipping of the magnetic poles, seems like having it easy has lead to alot of complacency amongst the general populous.

I believe they found the hole was shrinking or at least failing to increase in size, this was a few years ago, but it was definitely well publicised. Doesn't mean we haven't just seen the first island destroyed by a rise in sea levels. Fairly heavily developed places like the eastern sea board of the US and the Netherlands are supposedly high on the list along with London and alot of the UK.

As for the initial terrorist plot, i'm actually quite sad they didn't do it, the polarisation it would've caused, could have lost them a key demographic in their support networks. If your friends don't like what your doing, you have no one to turn to for help. All the other bullshit about Iraq, i'm pretty tired of reading all these ill informed xenophobic opinions. So i've stopped bothering.

If a straw breaks the camel's back, it was about to collapse anyway, and break a leg on the way down then die of exposure.

Polluting the globe with chemicals entirely of our creation that affect things on the ppm or ppt level I can understand. Pumping out enough heat, or enough thin gas to trap heat, within a couple hundred years to change the climate of this planet LMAO.

Actually, its mostly because, we raised the temperature of the sea by only 1-2 degree's, this was enough to spark off a release of C02 (more biomass migrates from the depths of the ocean to the surface every night, then there is biomass on the rest of the planet). This release of C02 sparked off further increases in temperature.

Doesn't anyone understand the very fact that life exists on this planet is the evolutionary equivalent of standing atop a pyramid of plates being spun on toothpicks. We are so insignificant, this isn't really a big deal. But from a selfish point of view i'd prefer to nuke the earth then die because soccer moms prefer SUV's.
