i've driven and ridden in c5 base model corvettes 100+ mph on shitty country roads like it was floating on air keep grasping at straws The bottom line is that you'll never convince me any new corvette is going to be worth 100k to me. There are so many better things to do with $100,000 I won't even begin to list them. |
Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9
I am currently driving a Chevy 2005 malibu and personaly I have never riden in a shitty car. Its at 38K and the buttons for doorlock and power windows have already chipped and faded to reveal that they are some sort of Clear buttons that is back lit and painted black. so new only the little window icon shape glows but now all the pain is gone so its a huge glowing button in yoru periffreal vision. The seats feel like 2 boards put together in an L shape and have no contour to them at all. a 15 minute car ride is Uncomfertable and between the odd road noise, Super slushy steering, touchy brakes and overall cheap ass feeling I have to say it feels like you are driving a 84 cavalier.
The car has some pep to it and when you put it on the floor it goes but honestly thats is the only time it feels Ok and not akward is when your at 60 and up or flooring it. other than that the car drives like a giant plank of wood. and of course just like any Chevy V6 Autotragic ive ever driven its especialy akward at part throttle, wierd hesitation or studder as it tries to either bog out in gear or slam wide open and downshift. Not a very smooth transition between chillin and part throttle acceleration like in my Pilot. Its like there is wide open or chillin. Cliff notes: 2005 Malibu = poo poo and I am trying to fuel more GM = teh suck arguements It drives and feels like a complete piece of ---- but yet there is really nothing wrong with it(ie nothing broken not worn out) but my 97 Civic is not only more comfertable but feels more luxiourious to me. Hate to say it but a LS1 camaro rides the same to me. Fast car but shitty ass ride unless you are balls out IMO. |

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9
Cut springs? Real nogs use chains to keep the suspension compressed for lowering.

Re: Fear... 2009 Corvette LS9
the only way i could justify me owning something that crazy would be if it was in a work truck that would be usefull or if i was rich and didnt give a ---- about gas mileage or if i was a racer and thats what i drove. but im too poor to afford even the insurance much less the gas. and with enough brains in your head you can get a good four cylinder that puts out enough horsepower to have plenty of fun with. i just cant see giving up a cheap and fast/quick 4 banger that still gets 30 miles a gallon for something i would have to save up money just to afford to drive much less pay for. but its still a cool car to drool over.
