Draining water from air compressor?

Re: Draining water from air compressor?
I've heard stories of compressor tanks taking a dump @ 150psi before. Apparently one story included that the explosion took out a cinder block wall with ease. Since hearing that story, Every time I walk away from the compressor, I drain the air through the pet-***** on the bottom. I don't want to be mangled by a rusty *** piece of shrapnel...

Re: Draining water from air compressor?
I like it when my tools spray out ice cool water. Feels good. Naw but I've been meaning to pick up a seperator though. My wife paid alot(in our sence of alot) for my compressor and don't really want to wreck it too fast.

I've got a moisture filter on mine and when I'm done I open the drain valve all the way and leave it open untill I use it again.
I worked at a manufacturing plant were I'd be filling up 5gal buckets when I opend up the drain.
