There are many silly myths floating around the car industry to fool the average person. Another is that cold intake air improves mileage. NO. Warm air improves mileage.

so much for the ricer crowd

I got to try this. I'm just afraid to get some on the paint and ---- it up :-\. I guess carying a gallon of acetone and a turky baster in the truck wont be too weird :P

Explain this a little more in depth if you would...

Also, I wonder if adding a fuel cooler is a good thing or bad thing. I know its a good thing for power, but for fuel mileage...

no, it doesn't. that's not the reason it mixes with gas and does what it does. If you think molecular simplicity from a solvant will improve gas mileage by making it more volatile, ad some heptane to your gas tank. It's one methlyene group short of being octane and it's an alkane hydrocarbon. That should pep your ---- right up ;)

he's probably talking about fuels ability to vaporize reaching the level of volatility, which it will do when it gets injected into the cylender head regardless of its initial tempature because the engines operating tempature is far greater than the level of volatility for the fuel, even then its marginal. Hot air is far less dense than cold air, as we all know. So it contains less oxygen. There's an ideal ballence, just like with everything else. If you'd like to state otherwise, jon, please provide creditable sources.

someone needs to try it out personally , then get back to us.

I would gladly , like to see better gas mileage on my Tahoe. $80 to fill, kinda sucks. I would like that 80 bux worth of gas to go abit further. I would hate to get the measurements wrong and jack up the new truck. the wife would definatly own my ass

Re: Double Your Gas Milage...

I should have some results this weekend.

+Being in canada I had to do a bit of math because my syringe was in oz and my gas tank is in liters. Since 20 liters is 5.2 gallons and I'm aiming for the upper limit of 2oz/10 gallons thats 1oz/5gal which ~ 1oz per 20L of gas. I have 1/4 tank of gas in the civic so about 5L I added 1/4oz of this stuff in to the tank and a bit of gasoline to wash it down all the way. (when putting this stuff in at the pumps, put the Acetone in first then fuel up to mix the two)

Anyway. We shall see what it does by tomorrow and how much gas I go through between now and tomorrow. I drive 30 minutes to work every day so under normal driving that 1/4 tank would last me there and back twice.

If this stuff works as they claim, I will definetly be putting it in to the turbo coupe.

Right now I have a 1oz syringe and a steel 10oz cylinder that I keep some of this stuff in so its always on hand. I keep it in the car and will be using it to test on the winter beater for about 2 more weeks untill the turbo coupe goes on the road.

ya gas is at 3.55 today here, ---- that. i've been driving my bro's beater for my beater, so i'll prolly try it on that. from what i read on that page the worst thing that would happen is you would get worse milage, and thats about it.

Re: Double Your Gas Milage...

---- I'd be glad if gas was 3.55 here. Although I am running a full tank of 100 octane at 5.99, in both cars. :6
