Double Your Gas Milage...

Double Your Gas Milage...
So this was in the AOL.com newsreel annnnnnnd, I just was a little curious. Short vid so watch it. Starts at 17mpg in an Intrepid or Stratus or somthing like that (how his mpg is that low is beyond me), but in the end gets 34mpg. Some are common sense and some are dumb, but let's discuss the very l last part that adding:
2 oz. of Pure Acetone to a fulll tank yielded a gain of about 13mpg for that tank
Like Dan asked me just now: Long term affects? Also, for us boosted people it may not be that wise because it may lower octane ratings, right? Then again, it's only 2 oz.

already knew this. 1oz per 10 gallons, do not exceed 3 ozs per 20 gallons. and, mix this with gas before you add it to the tank, it will eat ---- on its way down, because it's such a simple chemical compound. and yes, acetone does work.

Re: Double Your Gas Milage...
"The 'Mythbusters' episode did not use the proper ratio of acetone. 1-1.5 oz per 10 gallons is optimum.
I have been using acetone in my cars for over 20 years and it definately works. Increases mileage by around 15-20%. And acetone does not negatively affect the engine in any way used in these ratios.
I am a chemical/lubrication engineer and have done plenty of tests along with reputable testing labs on this very subject.
It works!"
interesting ----, does it work in carb engines?

my 20mpg average driving to work driving will be around 22, and highway of 23 will average out to around 25-26

So you have to get a gas can add maybe an ounce and repeat
seems like a major pain
