damn chris you paying 3.35 for 91, ---- I better fill up on 91 here then. Last night it was 2.99 in Lakewood, and I think it's 3.01 in Irvine. I'm gonna fill that ---- up right now. 70 big ones for unocal 76.

oh by the way, boycotting the gas stations is bullshit. You are hurting the gas stations, not the industry. gas stations only make a cent or 2 a gallon and the rest of their income comes from the people that fill up gas and go inside and buy ----. that's showing them real good, ---- over the little guy

besides the fact that i would hate to see more oil refineries go up...finindg more places to build them isn't the issue we should be looking at in my opinion.

any of you think of bringing up the "limited resource" part of all of this?

i don't care how much we have right now, oil is not an unlimited resource that we will have the luxury of using til the end of time. why aren't we making any kinds of focus on trying to substitute oil? Ethenol perhaps? What a concept...slowly getting away from being 100% dependant on oil. ::)

I dunno...just my two cents.

no matter what the price is, on average the gas stations make 0.28 a gallon

i dont know about anywhere else, but gas by me just went up like 50 cents today. we went from about 2.95 for 93 octane to 3.57 for 93. some gas stations are slow changing prices, and they have long lines at them. its obsurd imo.

yep yep yep. its basic supply and demand anyway. its only logical that as we run out of oil the price of gasoline will go up. car companys need to get on the ball with making more efficent cars. its like american car comapnys dont even give a ----. the cars are pointlessly heavy, unsafe, shitty on gas, engines are to large, shitty in genral. and the thing is, its not like they dont have the technology to make thes cars more effecient/run them off flex fuel. ford has flex fuel tauruses out. they could bring somthing to the states like the ford KA and make it a flex fuel vehicle. all the cars american car companys sell in europe could come state side. they could start emplimenting alternitive fuel ideas into product design. but we're america so were going to continue to use gas like its going out of style until ---- hits the fan then we will change direction.

As much as flex fuel cars are a great idea ethanol is not the way to go (and I live in North Dakota where A TON of it is made). Even though E-85 (85% ethanol/15% gas) is on average $.50 cheaper than regular gas it also decreases your gas mileage by roughly 30%, so you have to fill up more often and end up spending more, it decreases horsepower by roughly 10%, it wrecks spark plugs QUICK, so you are spending more on tune-ups per year, and it is recommended that if you are using E-85 you also change your oil every 1,000 miles whereas in my daily driver I go about 3500-4000 per oil change (owners manual says to go 3500).

Like I said flex fuel cars are a great idea, but car manufacturers and flex fuel manufacturers have quite a way to go before using flex fuel is compairable to using plain old gas. :)
