Don't buy gas Sept. 1st

sorry, the whole thing is in caps.. im too lazy to make it normal

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. THEREFORE SEPTEMBER 1st HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THESE TWO NATIONS SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU REPOST THIS OR SEND IT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING
THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND ------ THE WORD. SEND THIS TO EVERYONE
YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 1ST A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"
i know im not gonna buy gas.. its over $3/gal for premium where i'm at now >:( :'(

Someone please find the fucktard who came up with this ingenious plan and remove him/her from the gene pool.

no i dont think so. has it gone down yet? in the 80s we had x amount of places to drill and refine. we have to have more now but the price keeps going up. explain that. the whole wholesale buying in blulk thing isnt going to be aplied here. to many people have their hand out. complaining is the only way to do anything about it

acually you are wrong. demand has skyrocketed and our domestic refining ability has stayed the same since the late 70s.

to my knowledge no new refineries have been built since the 70s

ahem, liberals... democrats.... bleeding hearts.... enviromentalists... ext have stopped all attempts to increase domestic oil/gas production

they say oil tycoons will get rich exploiting the land in and around the US if we increase production, but then they also say they are getting rich by charging so much for a gallon of gas.

what is basically comes down to is the enviro-nazis dont want you to drive a car or use gasoline.

id rather have cheap gas, rich AMERICAN oil companies/jobs/tax revenue ext.. rather than paying a ---- ton for gas, and having sand ------s get rich who support anti-americanism and terrorisim.

On sept 1st buy a bike day that'll do alot more than dont buy gas. Gas isnt goin down. I was reading and found a couple experts in the field and they came to the same conclusion middle east nations w/ oil have lied for years about how much oil they really have. We have no hard proof of what is really left. Hence there insane pricing there gettin every penny has crude oil just doesnt appear. This is the only answer that made sense and is one that is just another example of we need to develop new ideas to get away from their system. I just paid 3.35 for 91 octane in so cal and Im sure on the coast san diego etc there in the 3.60+ range. I said it we will be at 4.00 before next summer. The cycle isnt gonna change. This is where it us up to you to come up w/ ways around it car pooling, walking to the store etc. Really think in 2 years gas should be around 5.00 a gallon at the rate of inflation in this product.

I'm all for preserving some of the wild lands and ----, but yeah in Alaska there is so much land it is rediculous to think we're going to destroy the whole state by putting up a couple oil drills/refineries and helping the nation in umpteen ways. Yeah ---- the middle east, lets break some American soil for oil!! (should be a slogan or some ----)

damn chris you paying 3.35 for 91, ---- I better fill up on 91 here then. Last night it was 2.99 in Lakewood, and I think it's 3.01 in Irvine. I'm gonna fill that ---- up right now. 70 big ones for unocal 76.

oh by the way, boycotting the gas stations is bullshit. You are hurting the gas stations, not the industry. gas stations only make a cent or 2 a gallon and the rest of their income comes from the people that fill up gas and go inside and buy ----. that's showing them real good, ---- over the little guy

besides the fact that i would hate to see more oil refineries go up...finindg more places to build them isn't the issue we should be looking at in my opinion.

any of you think of bringing up the "limited resource" part of all of this?

i don't care how much we have right now, oil is not an unlimited resource that we will have the luxury of using til the end of time. why aren't we making any kinds of focus on trying to substitute oil? Ethenol perhaps? What a concept...slowly getting away from being 100% dependant on oil. ::)

I dunno...just my two cents.

no matter what the price is, on average the gas stations make 0.28 a gallon

i dont know about anywhere else, but gas by me just went up like 50 cents today. we went from about 2.95 for 93 octane to 3.57 for 93. some gas stations are slow changing prices, and they have long lines at them. its obsurd imo.

yep yep yep. its basic supply and demand anyway. its only logical that as we run out of oil the price of gasoline will go up. car companys need to get on the ball with making more efficent cars. its like american car comapnys dont even give a ----. the cars are pointlessly heavy, unsafe, shitty on gas, engines are to large, shitty in genral. and the thing is, its not like they dont have the technology to make thes cars more effecient/run them off flex fuel. ford has flex fuel tauruses out. they could bring somthing to the states like the ford KA and make it a flex fuel vehicle. all the cars american car companys sell in europe could come state side. they could start emplimenting alternitive fuel ideas into product design. but we're america so were going to continue to use gas like its going out of style until ---- hits the fan then we will change direction.

Darkelvis 08-31-2005 10:27 PM

Re: Don't buy gas Sept. 1st

As much as flex fuel cars are a great idea ethanol is not the way to go (and I live in North Dakota where A TON of it is made). Even though E-85 (85% ethanol/15% gas) is on average $.50 cheaper than regular gas it also decreases your gas mileage by roughly 30%, so you have to fill up more often and end up spending more, it decreases horsepower by roughly 10%, it wrecks spark plugs QUICK, so you are spending more on tune-ups per year, and it is recommended that if you are using E-85 you also change your oil every 1,000 miles whereas in my daily driver I go about 3500-4000 per oil change (owners manual says to go 3500).

Like I said flex fuel cars are a great idea, but car manufacturers and flex fuel manufacturers have quite a way to go before using flex fuel is compairable to using plain old gas. :)

Re: Don't buy gas Sept. 1st

ok heres another way to look at it. we can make artifical sweetners, synthetic oils, a 400 pound bitch look like shes new again but in all our technologu we cant make a artifical gasloine. Im not talking about alternative fuel im talking just like a synthetic oil. we cant refine something to make a version of fuel. The other thought i had was to just say the hell with them and since we have so many troops and such in various places why dont we just anexx the middle east and call them a district or whatever the hell we call columbia or puerto rico? We could trade them like a better way of life for a direct pipeline to the use of unlimited oil. We are afterall the most powerful contry. Wed only have to worry about china and N. korea. I saw nagasaki them and call it a day. If anyone else complans remind them of hiroshima.

Im no hitler but this is ------- nuts.
