if gas prices go up, we blame the falling economy, inflation, etc on the president, like he directly did it. arabs dictate the cost of oil at the refinery, not the buyers of the product.

No, the buyer sets the price and thats why its falling, the demand for their product is dropping and they are producing way more oil than is needed right now so the speculators are betting that the value of oil is going to continue dropping so they are all selling off their futures to put them in something more stable.

If what you just said was true (who said anything about the president anyway?) then you could theoretically put a stock CRX for sale on this site and ask 10,000 dollars for it, since you determine the price someone will have to buy it at that price. in reality you would get a lowball offer and you either take it or stand there with your dick in your hands. The evil Arabs are cutting production because the price is dropping so fast and they cannot stop it any other way.

^ What sort of service do you use to buy/sell. I see commercials all the time for companies, are they all about the same?

I use www.fidelity.com, I use them because my company has their 401k ---- set up through them so its convenient for me to use them for trading stock as well, but what you want to look at is commission rates and any membership fees they charge.

Ameritrade has a deal right now where you get a month of free trades and they give you 100 dollars, they also have a flatrate commission of 9.99 per trade , this is important because i noticed that Fidelity charges different rates based on how much stock you buy sometimes cost as much as 10 per share for ------- commission, so i'll be opening an account with them here shortly, I also have an account with Smith Barney but I hate the way their website is layed out and its a pain in the ass to use.
