Condoms work well for insulation from elements/water, also. Make sure your electronics don't catch the beaver feaver. I used to have a video of mine on putfile,, but it was removed >:(. I no longer have the vid on my pc.

:D

holy ---- you keep that thing clean. either that. or those are pics of when you just bought it. or you dont run the ---- out of it like i do ;)

ok.. i ran mine today and something wierd happend.. the exhaust pipe got so hot that it melted the pull starter thing :l i turned it off quickly.. but damn ive never seen that before.. and it was running rich at the time too :-\ and it didnt even finish half a tank.. and i wasnt even going full throttle :-\

i blew the glow plug :P i never had heating issues like that.. thats wierd..

i sold my other 2 buggies to my friend :P let em go for dirt cheap too :X

ok.. pebbles and ---- keep falling inside the motors heat sink.. where the glow plug ---- is.. im also getting tired of pebbles getting into the gears.. so would it be ok if i took a screen mesh and completly lines the body and the holes on the bottom of the buggy?

cause it gets annoying having to clean them all the time :-\ and nothing is more fun than ripping up the dirt on a baseball field and seeing two dirt chutes spraying out the back of the buggy ^-^

i have NO idea why my xtm xterminator didnt have this problem..

Mine has a little cover on the underside to prevent rocks from bouncing up into the chassis and jamming the spur/clutchbell gear mesh. You can see the black plastic piece in the center of the chassis.

I've seen covers (using scraps cut off of replacement lexan bodies) mounted to the underside of chassis holes used for the same purpose. Can't find any pictures. Mesh would work so long as it doesn't interfere with any moving parts.

Are you sure it was running rich? Those engines would have to get extremely hot to do that. Plus, you burned up a glow plug already. I can use a glow plug for a couple of gallons easily. I usually change it out before it's completely fried.

Clay running tracks are fun to drive on too.

Post some pics atleast.

yup. it was running rich. was at 2 3/4th of a turn.. i had just begun to lean it out. smoke was still puring out the exhaust and it was still running boggy..

this is the only picture i have right now. im actually locked outside the house with my laptop :X
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/2905/rc00018sa.jpg

but u can see the black plastic melted off the pull starter thing and stuck on the exhaust pipe, i took apart the entire buggy and cleaned it.. im going to get a camera.. and have a video of me running the baseball field soon..

even the hole from where the starter gear is pebbles and dirt fly up into it and the gear box is like right there! how retarded is that.. manual says if it over heats even when running rich.. to cut up holes in the lexan body..

they have stickers that make it look like a roll cage with a net.. and a windshield.. im prolly just going to cut out that place where those stickers go and put a fine mesh screen over it.. it wont look like ----..

ill try to get video/pictures up as soon as possible..

Holy ----, that thing's like the SSAC of the RC world. How do you justify buying such a piece of ----?

Way too rich nitro still burnig in the pipe = HOT AS ----!

With it this cold you cannot tune the mixture right.

What was the temp on the jug after running 5 minutes??? I'll guess it was cold at 155-160F right????

Wait....you didn't take temps?????

Nice new buggy, Ive installed the Xtm 457 with aluminum clutch shoes in a customers car before, that thing moved, I can't believe the motor would make that big heavy thing get up and go. Ive got an electric onroad car that does gps confirmed 65, but is gear easily for 80. If you are done with break in you might want to lean out the mid range needle on the carburetor slide. That will take some of the boggyness away. And maybe change your glow plug as well because when it's running rich during break-in, that rich fuel mixture likes to foul out plugs.
