I've wanted one of those for a long time. There was a guy where I use to live that built his own and sold them. Only sold them for like $200-$300. The things were so fast it was unbelieveable

http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitr...rx_monster.htm

Cool tho man~ looks fun.
I have an Associated RC10GT stadium truck w/ a .15
and a duratrax streetforce w/ a .18~ few upgrades to it, i got it clocked at 58mph~
I have a vid of her too~ (yes, it has a red civic body on it >:D) and it's 4wd~

Heres the vid: (listen for the 2 speed transmittion shifting (automatic))
took a bit for the engine to get warmed up before it would shift~ (shifts at middle/end of vid)

you should lower that 2nd gear shift point :-\
i bet if u fix it.. ittl go alot faster.. your cars shifting into second wayyyy too late.. that gonna damage the engine.

yes steve. i wished to attain max payload while not hindering speed in any noticable way.. i did some calculations.. and i beileve 12.3 pounds of c4 is where the buggy starts to slow down..
so i just kept it at 12 pounds to be safe..

i dont know about a crowd of people.. but next time ur stopped alone at a stop light.. and u hear the whizz of the rc motor.. i suggest you peel the ---- outta there as fast as you can... :y

nitro rc vehicles are sweet. I have a xxxnt stadium truck, a .15 aerobatic biplane, and a .30 cessna look alike plane. I also have a thunder tiger raptor 30 v2 helicopter that i found in a tree when i was hunting this year, the thing is ------- sweet there is nothing like flying a helicopter upside down at 30 mph

Re: diggity diggity diggity. i just bought me an XTM XLB nitro rc buggy

update. buggy is broken in.. and fast enough for its size
still need to fine tune it and find the ideal shift point for 2nd gear.

its already aten through 16 batteries :-\ those servos need ALOT of power.. so i got to buy me a rechargable baterry pack..
as soon as my friend gets off her ass to come with me i can get videos of the buggy in action.. its not even fine tuned.. and running arround on 1st gear only and its fast as hell.. am transmitter has a long enough range for me.. looks like i wont be upgrading the stock system..

this buggy is the size of a large pillow..

no matter how awesome it is.. buyers remore is still there :'(

im still getting used to the controls cause it cant pull off sharp turns like the xterminator..

im already thinking about upgrading to quad steering >:D

i must be a puss....i'm rocking a touring car tamiya 414....all wheel drive, 2 belt, electric motor(12 triple mod in it now)....that thing owns all.....bigg carpet track by my house haven't raced in a while...all my money is going to my turbo project :y...ps don't no much about nitro...but i have heard break it in like you want to run it....

break in period is only 45 minutes long.. you run it rich as ---- for those 45 minutes.. run it for 2 minutes 25% throttle.. let it cool run it again 25% then let it cool.. then go half throttle.. then same thing for 75% and run it 75% the rest of the break in.. the oil that lubricates the engine is actually inside the nitro fuel itself.. so u run it rich to make sure everything is well lubricated.. but ur not supposed to go wide open throttle anytime.. but i couldnt supress the temptation >:D
videos coming as soon as my lazy freind gets off her ass.

I've thought of it. I saw in person a guy make his own water-cooled motor. Runs no cooling head and only runs bout 140*F on the stock .15 Traxxas T-Maxx motor (older ones not new 2.5s or whatever). Had a radiator, water jacket, and seperate small 75cc (I believe) gas tank for the water. Pretty inventive and worked/ran flawlessly.

1/8th scale buggies are cool, but expensive. Saw one running with us on the track and they are AWD and hook like none other and fly. Fastest accelerating R/C of the groups that I have driven or seen in person. They are QUITE the racing R/C machine.

I haven't run mine and need a stock carb. Not to mention I like to ride in the things I make go fast. That's my hobby now that I can drive.

Time for some bench racing...R/C style.

There's no way you could hang with my buggy, it weighs a lot less than yours and it's got a hot motor (Rody Roem modified C5) and a bigass wing. But the wing is the real reason you're going to lose...over the internet.

my MAD TYTE XLB ripped the tires apart at wot.. didnt even catch any kind of traction.. and even after it did.. once that bad boy got into 2nd gear it ripped the tires even more.. on wet pavement :P

another con..
the starter.. pull starter.. get coated with oil.. so it slips.. so i had to take it apart to clean it.. wht a ------- bitch it what!
the pebbles in the gear box.. luckilly no damage.. but took me quite a while to get used to it..

then i took it apart one more time to make sure i mastered it 8)

cleaning up the buggy is a pain in the ass.. the air filter is zip tied on.. so its a pain to get off.. and a pain to get on.. too much ---- gets caught in the buggy.. if i made it.. i wouldnt make all thease crevases that would get stuffed with mud.

and for fucks sake. why the ---- couldnt this buggy be water proof?

i was thinking about the ballon thing

i want a starter box sooo ------- badly :P but ive had pull starts forever = no blisters cause i got calisis :P

lol! I have like 3 starter boxes. Well maybe 2 now, I don't remember :P I think I sold one already.

I like pullstarts though, it's just that one of the r/cs I had, I had to use a starter box, no other option in order to have it setup the way i wanted.

I've been meaning to post some vids of my r/c's I think I will soon hopefully, maybe within a week. I got all sorts of ------' ----. I think vids would also be a good way of advertising them :D
