I've had them all, and yes B series engines take a better beating stock for stock, you could build up a D, but then you still have a D and a built B spanks your ass any day.
I say get a B series engine, they are beefier, stronger, make more power and can handle more power. |

gotta rep the d man, come on unless your going for 400+ i would stick to a D im just cool like that

You don't want an H22 dude. Not only would you have to buy the swap for 900 bucks you would still have to sleeve it to run any kind of boost. The sleeves are frm not iron so you can't run forged pistons the forged pistons chew up the cylinder walls.
I dunno though, stock an h22 has what about 160-170 whp so running about .5 bar would probably get you up there hp wise .to much more will probably kill the stock pistons though. I'm nobody around here. But if it were my descision.I would go B series. the market for B parts is huge I gues parts for a D are to but Ive noticed any site that sells car parts always has something for a b16 or 18. |

Re: Decisions, Go B or stay with the D
If money is tight, just build a D. It's still going to run you some money. If you had a monster D series, would you always wonder what it would have been if you went B? If so, than go B. For the price of a stock B vtec head and transmission I could probably build a D series bottom end. It's tempting, but I'd always wonder, so I'm going for it.

I went B because I got a full swap for $300.
