The OBD1 transmissions will not swap into that car. 92-95 and 95-99 are all interchangeable amongst themselves, but an obd1 auto tranny will not fit in a 95-99 civic, whereas for a manual 92-99 are all interchangeable.... so I'm really confused as to your statements... also Paul99ex had an EX auto civic which he turbo'd at one point, never got it running well but it was obd2 and auto...

This thread pretty much explains why it isnt as easy to convert from obd2 to obd1 on an auto car and why we went the the safc. Guess people said that the sensors on the obd2 trans wouldnt work with the obd1 ecu, therefore you'd also have to swap out the trans if u wanted to convert to obd1. So if we'd be doing a trans swap, might as well be and auto to manual and he's not ready to do that one just yet. I dont konw the exact details but Turtle can chime in on that, he did the research. My only job is to do the installs so massa dont beat me no mo.

Quoting y7turbo:
If you go to the boomslang website they tell you that the only way the obd1 ecu will work is with an obd1 trans. So according to boomslang you can swap in an obd1 auto tranny into a 98 civic. No offense to you Sinister, but Im gonna trust in boomslang because they make and test their products.
Anywho, its obviously another costly project which might happen next summer.
The afc displays how much the throttle is open by percentages. It happens when I'm at WOT, the afc throttle is at 100% and right around 4-4.5k the rpm needle starts jumping up...it immedietly jumps up to around 6k and then it goes all the way to 8k(the max rpms on my car) and because I'm afraid of blowing up my car I let off the gas immedietly.
if you look at the boomslang website you will also need to swap the obd1 auto trans as well!
its not worth it.
