Re:the damn speed cut off
i went past 120mph, which is like 200+ kph with my d16a6, and stayed at 6000rpm the whole time, my car is stupid fast when i'm going on the highway, but i only ran 15.9 in the 1/4, i want to be doing high 13's when i get the turbo in.

Re:the damn speed cut off
Check out locashracing.com....I think he can just take out the speed limiter for pretty cheap. He works pretty closely with Hasport. If you call them, he is usually there. But I can't for the life of me remember his name. Just ask for the Locash racing guy and he'll hook you up. It sucks waiting for your ECU to get back, but he should be able to do what you want. Pretty cheap too! (like $50) HASPORT (602)470-0065......Opps! I just read that again. I didn't see that it's a 1998 (OBD 2). I don't think he can do anything for you, but it's still worth a try

Re:the damn speed cut off
there has to be some way to trick the ecu. I know I could just unplug the sensor from the tranny, but then my speedometer would not work. is there any way to bypass the ecu? like wire the speed sensor directly to the speedometer and not through the ecu. altough if the ecu doesnt get a speed reading will the car run a.f.u.? the feilds sfc-vtec controller has settings to turn off the speed cut. but when I switched the speed cut off on my 94 civic(before I reliezed it didn't have a speed cut off) my speedometer didn't work. I don't know if thats the way it works or if something was just messed up.

i don't think a new ss camaro will go 160+ and you have would have to have an amazingly long straight away to get going that fast if it could. camaros aren't made to go 160 you would probably crash trying. especially on a shitty surface (non race track).

second...turbociviccp: if you were in 4th at 140 and then it stopped pulling when put into fifth, i would bet that your car just wont go any faster...its limited by its power and gear ratio's, not a governor...my friend has the same problem with his 92 si..i think he hits like 130 and then it just stops pulling...if you had a governor, the speed would drop down and then go back up (my camaro had one)..this is just my 2 cents, everyone feel free to argue now

there is no point in racing someone 100+ (unless you're at the track). unless you want to end up in jail/without a drivers license & car/paralyzed/dead
